Abstract
The main objective of this study was to analyze the temporal trends in the scientific publication content of “Al-Idari” Journal from 1979 to 2024. The study sample consisted of 1452 scientific and knowledge-based publications, which were classified across various scientific and intellectual fields.
The findings of the field study—analyzed over four decades—revealed the following:
The content of Al-Idari Journal has contributed to supporting Oman’s national directions and initiatives through its publications. Furthermore, the journal’s content has played a significant role in transferring scientific and intellectual knowledge to build, establish, and advance the work of organizational institutions. It has also contributed to promoting administrative culture and knowledge through diverse research channels, including statistics, book summaries, and specialized interviews.
In addition, the content of Al-Idari Journal has kept pace with scientific and intellectual developments and the emerging trends in management sciences and related disciplines.
Accordingly, it can be argued the first decade of the journal served as a foundational phase for disseminating specialized scientific knowledge in the field of management. The second and decades, however, represented a pursuit of specialization and empowerment through deeper engagement with administrative sciences and an enhanced interpretation of phenomena across related disciplines. As for the most recent decade, it reflects early signs of expansion and wider dissemination of management science, particularly through a focus on emerging trends in the field.
